What used to be great about public transport in Vienna, where the tramways, or Strassenbahn, specially my personal 3 favorites 1,2 and D. 1 and 2 used to go around the Ring and be a tourist ride where you could see all major attractions of Vienna. It was pretty much like the Circle Line in London, just overground. D used to be the tramway that brought me from my old home to the city center.
As it looks like, the Ring ride will be over by October 26th and D will be called 3 from then on..which is just rubbish!
The Vienna transport system cuts off 2 things that made it unique for more supposed efficiency(which is BS too since along that extension, you will be much faster by underground either way and that supposed new trip will take a whole life).

grad letztens bin ich versehentlich in die ringlinie eingestiegen. wollt vom schwarzenberg-platz zum schottentor aber das war dann schottenring oder falsche richtung keine ahnung, ich kenn mich nicht aus. aber ich hab ich mir gedacht, schöne linie...
schade, dass das nicht mehr rund sein wird.
